Accommodation and key cards

If you have lost your campus accommodation key or card during the day (9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday), you should contact the main Accommodation Office. They will arrange to let you into your accommodation and supply a replacement if necessary.

Out-of-hours help

Keys and cards handed into the Security and Safety CentreSecurity and Safety CentreSecurity and Safety Centre outside the above hours cannot be returned immediately, as their ownership can only be verified at the Accommodation Office. They will be handed over the next working day and you'll need to go there to find out if yours has been found or requires replacing. In the meantime, Patrol Officers (once they have verified your details) will be happy to let you in if necessary. However, you must visit the Accommodation Office the next working day.

Cardkey lock out

If you have a cardkey lock, check the colour your lock flashes when entering. If it changes from the normal green to amber, your door battery is running low. You'll need to contact the Accommodation Office to save you being locked out in future when the power runs out and it changes to red.

Registration cards

Any registration cards handed into the Information Centre or Estate Management Helpdesk Estate Management Helpdesk Estate Management Helpdesk will be kept for no longer than a few days before being handed back to the Student Services Hub.

Bicycles

Each year many bicycles are left unclaimed on campus grounds. So that we know which ones not to remove, everyone is advised towards the end of each academic year to register their bike at the Security and Safety Centre Security and Safety Centre Security and Safety Centre. You'll need to complete a form and you'll be given a coloured cable tie to attach to your bike.

After the advertised cut-off date, bikes without a cable tie or found away from a University bike park will be taken into storage.

To retrieve your bike (provided it has been found and stored), contact the Security and Safety Centre to arrange a time to collect it. You'll need to prove ownership (ideally proof of purchase) as well as provide a good description of the bike. Alternatively, if it was locked and subsequently removed by Patrol Officers, bring your lock key or combination code as the lock will have been retained to aid identification.

We will contact the owners of University-tagged bikes that we find and arrange for their return.
