Emergency and non-emergency contact details for first aid or incidents requiring security or police attendance are listed below. Add the phone numbers for your residence and/or campus to your mobile phone, so you have them to hand.

Patrol officers are based on Square 3 in the Information Centre morning, noon and night. They’re here to help you 24/7, 365 days a year. A friendly, approachable team, they’re always willing to assist and all are first aiders. Contact them externally on telephone: 01206 872125 or from accommodation StudentCom PC phone: 224 2125.

By calling our number instead, campus patrol or security officers can direct the emergency services to the exact site of the emergency without delay.

Non-emergencies

Telephone the Information Centre on extension 2125 or 01206 872125, or a trained first aider in your department if there is one.

Student accommodation

Make sure you understand the emergency and non-emergency procedures for getting first aid or security help in your residence. Following the procedures correctly is a requirement of your accommodation terms and conditions.

  • The Towers, The Houses, South Courts and Wolfson Court

    Emergencies

    1. Telephone 224 2222 from an emergency phone or Studentcom, or 01206 872222 from a mobile phone.
    2. Ask for the required service - first aid, ambulance, security - and give your location.

    Do not call 999 yourself. Patrol Officers, who are trained first aiders, are available 24 hours. They will assess the situation and arrange attendance of emergency services where required.

    Non-emergencies

    Telephone the Information Centre on 224 2125 from StudentCom or 01206 872125 from a mobile phone.

  • The Meadows and The Quays

    For both emergencies and non-emergencies:

    1. telephone 224 3866 from emergency phone or Studentcom, or 07460 373172 from a mobile
    2. ask for the required service – first aid, ambulance, or security support – and give your location

    There is 24-hour security available.

    Do not call 999 yourself. Security staff are trained first aiders. They will assess the situation and arrange attendance of emergency services where required.

    In the event of sudden illness or collapse, call 999 directly. Then, call CBRE using the details above and tell them to expect the arrival of the emergency services.

    Non-emergencies

    For help from security, telephone CBRE on extension 8208 or 01702 328208.

    For first aid, inform a member of staff who will contact a trained, on-site first aider.

Emergencies

  1. Telephone 999 and state which service you require (ambulance, fire or police).
  2. Then inform inform either reception during office hours on extension 5983 or 020 8508 5983, or security from 5pm to midnight (Monday to Saturday) on 07825 670709. Let them know you have called the emergency services.

Non-emergencies

Contact a member of staff or first aider - details are given on the notices by the first aid boxes. Alternatively, contact reception on extension 5983 or 020 8508 5983.

For security assistance between 5pm and midnight (Monday to Saturday), call 07825 670709.

In the event of a serious incident on a work placement, study placement, field trip or business trip in the UK or overseas you should:

  1. follow emergency procedures for your location, then
  2. inform your departmental contact as soon as possible, or
  3. if an incident occurs outside normal office hours, call 01206 872125 and patrol officers will alert relevant University staff
