The Department of Mathematical Sciences has been awarded the Bronze award in the Green Impact Award event that took place in the Ivor Crewe Building on 27 October, 2016. The event was a recognition for all the hard work on the programme over the past year and it served as the official launching of the 2016-17 programme. The awards and certificates were presented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Jules Pretty. Dr Chris Antonopoulos, as the last year's Green Impact Champion of the DMS, was the representative of the Department at the event and collected the award. Green Impact brings together students and staff to green campuses, curriculums and communities. Working in hundreds of organisations across the world, the award winning behaviour change programme empowers everyone to make meaningful change on sustainability. It’s a simple and flexible process. DMS has already made a great progress towards implementing the goals of the programme and has completed 17 actions so far in which 10 staff members and students were actively involved in the programme last year.
