Foundation degree in Health Science placements
The Foundation degree Health Sciences skills book contains guidance and current
legislation from the perspective
of students and educators. This is to facilitate the smooth running of the
placement experience for everyone involved.
Information for students
As a student you will spend part of
your time at Essex out on placement working in practice with one of our partner
organisations, often with your employing organisation. This is your opportunity to experience life working with service users and colleagues from numerous professions
Your time in placement forms the foundations of not only your degree but also
your future career. Many opportunities will arise
during this time that will enable you to put your skills and knowledge into
practice in real-time, often fast-paced environments challenging you
professionally and personally.
The experiences you have and the impression you make during placements can
directly link to your future employability and career pathway – so make the most
of every opportunity you can!
Information for supervisors
Thank you for agreeing to supervise a student on our
programme. When our students enter practice we endeavour to ensure they are not
only fit for practice, but are professional and approachable at all times. We
also ask that our students constantly demonstrating both the
University values and also those of the NHS.
