The Media Centre

We have a wealth of experience in producing videos for a variety of projects. Use our High-Definition TV studios or choose a location either on campus or off campus. As an in-house production team, we support you through the whole production process and can advise on the most suitable locations meeting any risk assessment or public liability insurance requirements.

To submit a filming request, complete a video brief form outlining the video's aims and objectives. Send the completed video brief form to media@essex.ac.uk 

We have professional photography equipment available to hire through our booking website. Alternatively, our content creators can produce professional photos for your project or event and can even provide professional studio photography within our studio facilities. By using our photographers, you can be sure your images meet the Essex distinctive brand requirements and convey the four brand pillars

We specialise in drone photography and have a CAA licence enabling us to provide drone footage as part of our digital media packages. We offer drone photography both on campus and off campus (subject to relevant permissions).

Creating rich and resonant audio is a must for any digital media. We can provide technicians to support you to self-record or we can produce the audio tracks for you. Whichever option you choose, the Media Centre can help you create the optimum audio for your digital media.

Got an idea for a podcast? We can help you record and produce a one-off or a series of episodes. Streaming podcasts has increased in popularity and is a great way for researchers, in particular, to disseminate their work to a wide audience. Listen to the podcasts we have produced.

A virtual 360° tour gives a stunning and realistic view of your venue, department or service area. We have the specialist equipment to make a truly immersive experience for anyone viewing your webpages.

Using digital media to promote your research can increase its impact, adding valuable engagement as well as sharing knowledge. We can help you with any aspect of digital media for research. Our content creators will support you, helping you to develop and envisage your research for screen or streaming. Take a look at examples of our work below.

All filming packages below include time for setting up and packing away equipment. They are also based on filming within office hours (9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday). Filming outside of these hours will accrue a higher charge, as indicated.
