Southend Campus

See what student life is like at our Southend Campus, located in the heart of this modern seaside town.

Welcome to sunny Southend-on-Sea, a vibrant and modern seaside town that boasts the world’s longest pleasure pier and seven miles of stunning coastline.

If you’re joining our School of Health and Human Sciences, East 15 Acting School, Centre for Psychoanalytic Studies, or Essex Business School, you may well be studying at our Southend Campus. Modern and lively, with state-of-the-art facilities, and a close-knit, international community Southend is the perfect environment for living and learning.

Southend is affectionately known as 'London’s playground'. You can sail, kitesurf, or cycle along the coast, take a ride on the rollercoasters at Adventure Island, or enjoy fish and chips on the beach. Our campus is based in the very heart of the town, where we've got over 300 places to eat, award-winning nightlife, museums, sporting opportunities, and even an international airport.

Interactive campus views

Although we would love you to come and visit us at an Open Day, we realise that it isn't always possible. Explore our attractive campus, award-winning accommodation and outstanding facilities with our interactive 360° campus views.

My favourite building on campus is the Forum. It’s only one year old, so it’s really modern. I like it because it’s got everything you need – when I want to study, I can go to the main hub or the library, and when we’ve got some group work, or I want to hang out with my friends, we can book a room or use one of the mini hubs. Plus, every Thursday the Forum is transformed into a cinema, where you can go and watch new movies.

The campus in Southend isn’t too big, so you don’t need to worry about getting lost. It also means that I see a friendly face at every corner!

There are loads of places to head to when lectures are over. Usually I’ll head to the library or go back to my room to do some work, but when I have some free time, I like to go shopping with my friends, go for a walk along the pier, or play some sports at the Garon Courts.
