Hello! Welcome to our Colchester Campus in the south-east of the UK. It's a beautiful large park with everything you need - accommodation, teaching facilities, library, theatre, sports facilities, shops, bars, restaurants and more. And it's just outside the town of Colchester which has great transport links.

Our Colchester Campus is home to over 10,500 students from more than 130 countries. The central squares are always buzzing with life, from a weekly street market to careers events and places to catch up with friends between lectures.

The Squares

The Squares are the heart of our Colchester Campus. Most of our lecture and teaching rooms are based around them, along with a range of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops. Home to frequent events, they're a great place to meet friends.

Albert Sloman Library

Over 1,000,000 books and lots of quiet study desks spread over six floors. The library is the perfect environment for quiet reading or last-minute essay writing (you'd never do that though, would you?).

Silberrad Student Centre

The Centre is your one-stop-shop for help with accommodation, finance, student support, exams and course administration.

You'll have your own bedroom in a flat, where you share a kitchen with 4-16 other students. Your bedroom has a desk so that you can study in private. Depending on the type of accommodation you choose, you'll either share a bathroom or have your own en suite. The different types have a range of prices so you can choose one to suit your budget.

When you join Essex, you’ll automatically gain over 11,000 new brothers and sisters – your Students' Union family. Our award-winning Students’ Union is one of the most active in the country, and with events on every night of the week, hundreds of sports clubs and societies to join, and opportunities for volunteering and paid work, you’ll never run out of things to do.

We’re building generations of past and present Essex students through the SU Heirloom project.

Sport

Our Colchester Campus offers a huge range of sport facilities, including a state-of-the art gym. We've got clubs for more than 50 sports and beginners are always welcome so it's the perfect chance to try something new.
