We provide undergraduate and graduate pathway routes to degree courses at our University. We also equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed on your chosen course.

We are a warm, friendly and internationally diverse department, and by choosing to study with us you will become part of our multicultural community. From the very first moment you arrive, we will make sure you feel part of our university community and that you are able to settle into life and study in the UK.

Essex Pathways Department is an academic department at the University of Essex. We are not a private company attached to the University, so you have full access to all the great facilities our campus has to offer.

English language and academic skills support

We understand that coming to the UK to study can seem daunting, which is why we provide pre-sessional English language courses before you start your course and academic skills support throughout your time with us. We want to ensure you feel confident using your language skills inside and outside of the classroom.

Progression at Essex

We are committed to providing you with an experience of living and learning to last a lifetime. That’s why we hope you will remain at Essex after completing your pathway studies. We work closely with all other departments, schools and centres across our University, and guarantee that a place is secured on your chosen course as long as you achieve the necessary grades.
