Emergencies and support services
It's important you know who to contact and what to do in an emergency. You can also access a number of support services and help both during the day and out of hours.
In case of fire
If you discover a fire, follow the safety procedure: shout out, get out and stay out. Make sure you're familiar with the fire emergency action
and you know how to evacuate a building safely.
Fortunately, incidents of crime are infrequent on our campuses. However, if you do witness a crime or are a victim, always
report it to the police and the security officers at your campus.
Nightline is an anonymous and confidential listening and information service, run by students, for students.
Nightline services are open from 10pm to 8am every night during term time.
If you live in University residences you can
contact the Residence Life team who listen, provide information on services available out of hours, and provide
guidance on other University or external services.
Our campuses are generally safe places, but you should always be mindful of your personal
safety. Be vigilant and report anything suspicious to the campus security staff or by calling the local police.
