Biography

Vince Joseph Aguspina is a PhD student working alongside the Centre for Ideology and Discourse Analysis. His dissertation project, titled 'Digital Dreams, Neoliberal Nightmares', examines the role of MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games) and its associated platforms and structures in generating support for right-wing movements as well as opening up possibilities for political mobilisation and expression. His primary research interest includes the role of social media and digital culture in shaping perspectives through which people interact with politics, as well as the fantasies and anxieties manifested through discourse.
