Shahzad Uddin is a Professor of Accounting and the Director of the Centre for Accountability and Global Development. Shahzad is the editor of Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies (JAEE).
Shahzad has published on management control including labour controls, public sector accounting, governance and sustainability in varieties of organizational and cultural settings.
Geographically, his publications draw from varied research sites located in four continents: Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America. Methodologically, his research is in qualitative traditions drawing from sociology, anthropology, development economics and philosophy.
He has published in top accounting, development, sociology and philosophy journals such as Accounting, Organisation and Society, Public Administration, Development and Change, Social Science and Medicine, Work, Employment and Society, and Journal of Critical Realism.
