Our Masters Skills Programme (MSP) for postgraduate taught students is now live on Moodle, and we’d like your help to make sure as many students as possible complete the course.
The MSP gives PGT students all the information they need to thrive in their studies, signposts them to all the support and opportunities available to them at Essex, and encourages good study habits for independent learning and critical thinking.
The course covers four topics:
- Masters study at Essex, which covers the structure of a Masters degree course, approaches to studying at Essex, and academic writing;
- Masters research at Essex, which covers writing proposals and ethical approval, literature reviews using AI tools, critical analysis, and methodology;
- Academic integrity and ethics, which cover academic integrity and ethics, and academic integrity and AI
- Essex life, which covers campus life at each of our three campuses
The programme is primarily aimed at students who started with us in January 2024, but anyone can enrol to take part. However, students will get the most benefit from the course if they complete it early on during their studies.
It would be great if you could help promote the course by linking to it though your own Moodle pages, mentioning it in class, or contact your students to let them know about the MSP.
If you have any questions, please contact either Jenna Hopkins or Dr Nilüfer Demirkan-Jones.
