I’m pleased to introduce myself as the new Head of College Services at the University of Essex International College. I joined the International College in May and bring with me a wealth of experience in education and leadership.

I hold a degree in Business Management and began my career in education as a Learning Support Assistant at a school for children with Special Educational Needs. This experience inspired me to pursue a teaching qualification, and I later earned my PGCE at Canterbury Christchurch University.

Although I transitioned out of the classroom, my career has continued to focus on education. I moved into Education Recruitment, where over the years I’ve held various leadership roles across Essex and London. In these roles, I’ve worked closely with graduates, trainee teachers, and experienced educators, supporting many in securing their first school-based roles or finding new challenges and environments.

Through my work, I’ve built strong connections with the Department for Education, universities, and various public and private organizations. I’ve also contributed to the creation and implementation of new Initial Teacher Training programmes, helping to address the challenges of teacher attraction and retention in schools, colleges, and universities across London and the South East of England.

For any operational or student-related queries at the International College, please feel free to reach out to me directly at richard.pentecost@kaplan.com. I look forward to supporting you and working together to continue the success of the University and the International College.
