I chose The Essex MBA because of its strong emphasis on responsible leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The program's focus on sustainability and ethical business aligns with my values and long-term career goals. Moreover, Essex Business School's diverse and international student body offers the opportunity to network and collaborate with professionals from various industries and backgrounds, which enhances my learning experience.

One of my favourite aspects of The Essex MBA is the hands-on learning approach, particularly through the Directors Workshops. As someone with a background in finance and leadership in sports, I appreciate the program’s focus on strategic management and decision-making. Modules such as "Strategy" and "Sustainable Operations" resonate with my aspirations, as they provide insights into building and managing businesses with a long-term impact.

My background in finance, combined with over a decade of experience in competitive volleyball as both a player and coach, has shaped my leadership and teamwork skills. Playing for teams like the Brandon University Bobcats and the University of Saskatchewan Huskies taught me how to strategise, adapt, and perform in high-stakes situations and qualities that translate directly into the business world. Coaching women’s volleyball in Saskatoon, also reinforced my ability to mentor, lead, and drive high-performance results. These experiences give me a unique perspective on leadership and team dynamics within the MBA program.

The best part about life at Essex is the sense of community and the opportunity to engage with a diverse group of students from various backgrounds. Being part of the Essex Rebels Volleyball Team has given me a unique way to balance academics with athletics while fostering teamwork and discipline. The university's facilities, supportive staff, and vibrant campus culture make it an excellent environment for both academic and personal growth.
