Join us for a fascinating series of talks and discover how language really works. Explore the sounds and creation of words, learn how we use language to express and create identity, all in a unique gallery setting in the heart of Colchester.
Language is all around us. We use language to connect with others, study, send work e-mails, tell jokes, and convey our deepest thoughts but how does it really work? And what does this mean in a constantly more global culture?
This series of talks will be lead by Dr Kyle Jerro from the Department of Language and Linguistics. The event will run from 12pm - 3pm on Saturday 9 November at the Firstsite Gallery in Colchester. A free buffet will be provided from 12pm by White Gardenia.
This event is part of the nationwide Festival Of Social Science, it is open to the public and completely free of charge.
