Essex Business School Welcome Week 2023

All study levels:

Monday 2nd October

• Drop in for an informal welcome to Essex Business School (EBS).
• Celebrate our school’s internationalism by adding your pin to our EBS World in One Place Map and send a postcard home!
• Meet the EBS Student Services Team and other key members of EBS staff.
• Relax and make friends over a selection of puzzles and activities or take a self-guided tour around the building.
• A voucher for refreshments in Bonds (our on-site café), plus fresh fruit and sweet treats will be available for EBS students who attend the session.

Monday 2nd, Wednesday 4th and Friday 6th October

• Do you know your LEAP from your FASER? Have you found your way around the various online systems we use at Essex?
• This event is designed to take you through the most commonly used systems and apps to get you started.
• Join us for this practical session to get you logged in, set up and ready for your studies.
• You can bring your laptop  and devices with you and get them set up too!

• You only need to attend once.

• A voucher for refreshments in Bonds (our on-site café) will be available for EBS students who attend the session.

Direct Entry Students:

Tuesday 3rd October

• Meet other Essex Business School Direct Entry Students and find out key information to help you get the Academic year off to a flying start! 
• A voucher for refreshments in Bonds (our on-site café) will be available for EBS Direct Entry students who attend the session. 

First Year Undergraduate and Direct Entry Students

Tuesday 3rd October

• Find out everything you need to know about Essex Business School, including key staff within the Department and the upcoming year at Essex.
• Your chance to meet Academic staff and hear from current students.
• You will also be set the Business task, which you will work on in small groups throughout the afternoon. 
• Lunch will be provided.

Friday 6th October

• The top 3 performing groups in the Business task will be announced and prizes awarded in our Business Task Presentation and Prizegiving ceremony.

• Pizza will be provided afterwards for EBS students who attend the session.

Postgraduate Taught Students

 Thursday 5th October

• Meet your fellow students and academics in these sessions led by the Programme Directors of each group.

EBS 2.2 Management & Marketing Group 10:00-11:00
EBS 1.1 OSHRM Group 11:00-12:00
EBS 2.65 Accounting Group 11:00-12:00
EBS 2.66 Finance Group 11:00-12:00

Thursday 5th October

• At Essex Business School we’re the world in one place – and are lucky to have EBS students joining us from across the globe.
• So, we’d like to welcome you to our Great British lunch to try some of our local delicacies!
• There’s something for everyone with a variety of tasters available.
• There will be entertainment, networking opportunities, games, and a chance to make new friends and feel part of the EBS community.

Postgraduate Research Students

Thursday 5th October

• An introductory session from PGR Associate Director and a mini tour of the building 
• Meet your supervisor session with Q&A and accompanied by an “Afternoon Tea”
