University of Essex Research Partnership: Wellbeing, Health and Locale

We invite researchers from across the University and partner organisations to build links and explore opportunities for working together.

Join us for a day of insightful research and networking as we bring together researchers, public sector leaders, charities and policymakers to tackle the key challenges faced within public health.

Supported by the Health and Wellbeing Care Hub, this exciting event is aimed at organisations and researchers currently working in partnership or interested in exploring how to benefit from the wide range of expertise available from the University of Essex.

Cutting edge research and real-world impact, presentations from researchers and partners will highlight how you can benefit from research. This interactive workshop will also enable you to scope opportunities to collaborate in the future and tackle the key challenges you face within the health and social care system.

Context

The event focuses on the intersection of wellbeing, health, and locale. This strategy is essential for promoting a comprehensive approach to community development and public health. Recent reports emphasise that localised health initiatives can better address the unique needs and challenges faced by specific communities, ensuring that health interventions are relevant and effective. For instance, the Chief Medical Officer's 2023 annual report stresses the need for place-based health strategies to tackle the social determinants of health, which vary significantly across the country. By focusing research partnerships on these areas, we can enhance health equity, improve health outcomes, and build resilient communities, ultimately benefiting the wider population across England.

Join us to create powerful partnerships, as together we unite academia and the public sector for high-impact projects designed around the communities we serve.
