Join us on 16th October for the second seminar in the Centre for Coastal Communities seminar series.

The purpose of this seminar series is to bring together researchers either looking at coastal community topics or conducting research in a coastal community. The seminar series will be hybrid, with an opportunity to join in-person or online.

Dr Paul Mee from the Lincoln International Institute for Rural Health at the University of Lincoln will be speaking on ‘Commonalities and differences between the Lincolnshire coast and Essex coasts and how our two institutions can work together to address challenges in our coastal communities.’

Refreshments will be provided.

  • 20th November 2024 from 2-3pm - Professor Ewen Speed from the School of Health and Social Care will be speaking on 'Researching with marginalised communities from an inclusive involvement perspective'. Venue: in-person (Colchester campus, venue tbc) and on Zoom.
  • 12th December from 2-3pm – Professor Avril Keating and Dr Sam Whewall, from University College London, will present, ‘The push and pull of place: the role of local employment opportunities in youth mobility aspirations in coastal towns in England.’ Venue: TBD (presenters online)
