Former Literature and Sociology student, Wanjiku Wanyeki, presents 2 Minutes to Shine.
While waiting for a theatre class to begin, two students begin discussing the benefits of learning to act by solely studying the theory. They then begin a set of improvised scenes, making them travel far and wild in the realms of social and personal issues.
These two students are soon confronted with a wide variety of questions: How does one explain a social construct to a child? How does an actor play a character that they do not identify with? How can an actor make something serious funny? As they embark on this journey, the two students start enjoying themselves, pushing the limits of morality to impress one another.
A Homegrown Season production by Wanjiku Wanyeki.

About Wanjiku:
I am an amateur performer who sings, does contortion, dances and acts and aspires to become a professional. I enjoy writing songs and poems so I decided to seize the opportunity that the Theatre Arts Society was giving by writing my own Rewrite play this year. I have also recently taken the decision to change courses and move to London to study acting full time.
