The extremely popular arts and crafts workshops with local artists Tom and Iris return this autumn term!
Throughout the Autumn term, students and staff will be able to relax and unwind with weekly arts and crafts classes with artists Tom Armstrong and Iris Gunnarsdottir.
Everyone is welcome to join our free arts and crafts workshops where you can relax, meet new friends and develop your artistic skills along the way. Each week we will make something new, starting with macrame hanging baskets!
What's On:
- 16 October – Make Your Own Hanging Basket, with pot plants thrown in for free!
- 23 October – Printing Your Own Bag, printing and painting onto cloth bags
- 30 October – Make Your Own Natural Dyes, bring something along to dye
- 6 November – Play With Clay, from desk tidies to table top sculptures
- 20 November – Collage, with AI’s help we’ll make a masterpiece - this session is in relation to current exhibition Glimmer.
- 27 November – Drawing and drinking – still life drawing while sipping away on refreshments
- 11 December – Christmas Cards and Decorations
These workshops run 6pm - 8pm, please note there is no workshop on 13 November.
All materials are provided. You don’t need to book – just turn up!

The Artists:
Tom contributes cartoons to Private Eye (under the initials T.E.A), teaches art classes, draws comic books and sometimes makes big artworks.
Iris is an artist and ceramist who explores concepts of equality and mutual support from within a feminist framework.
