Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person's liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.

The UK Modern Slavery Act (2015) introduced restrictions and requirements for large organisations to publish a statement detailing their commitment to combating modern slavery from themselves and their supply chains.

The University is committed to protecting and respecting human rights and takes a robust approach to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not happening as part of University operations or in the supply chain.
