The new funding will mean Essex will keep receiving support for scholarships, internships and student enterprise activities and encourage the brightest students from across the world to study with us.
Matt Hutnell, Director of Santander Universities, visited our Colchester Campus earlier this year to renew the agreement in person. During his visit, Matt also met with a number of students who benefit from the scholarship and entrepreneurial opportunities made available by the partnership.
Santander Universities was created in 1996 as a means to bring together the bank's corporate social responsibility activities in support of higher education and Essex was one of the first UK universities to join the network in 2007.
Since then we have received support of over £1.3million which has seen over 120 students receive scholarships, more than 200 receive internships and over 150 have received travel grants to undertake research across the world.
