This Q&A session, to be held on Saturday 23 June, will cover everything from baby development to discipline, and will be led by experts from the Babylab (which carries out scientific studies on child development) and BabyBrains (which helps parents put scientific research into practice).
Dr Silvia Rigato, from the Babylab, explained: “Our research can help parents become more aware of their child’s development. This project is the first step in empowering them with scientific knowledge and tools which can help them give their children the best start in life."
The session is part of a four-day event, aimed primarily at organisations and health professionals working with young families, which will include workshops, round-table discussions and training sessions. The aim is to improve services and support for families, by bridging the gap between lab-based research and community services.
Dr Maria Laura Filippetti, added: “By working together as a multidisciplinary group we can provide better information and support to parents, which ultimately will result in better outcomes for children and reduce healthcare costs.”
The session for parents will start at 10am on Saturday 23 June at the University of Essex’s Colchester Campus. Book your free ticket on EventBrite to avoid disappointment! For further information, please contact the Babylab on 07548 189463 or email: babylab@essex.ac.uk
