The partnership of Braintree, Colchester, Essex, Tendring and Uttlesford Councils, the Haven Gateway Partnership, Invest ESSEX, North Essex Garden Communities Ltd and the University of Essex will be at the event to promote North Essex as an ideal location to invest.
Cllr Gagan Mahindra, Cabinet Member for Economic Development at Essex County Council, said: “We are pleased to be working in close partnership with some of the key players across North Essex to showcase the significant investment and business opportunities the area presents.
“Our proximity to London and Cambridge, as well as to the M11 and transport hubs such as Stansted and Harwich, which are moving huge amounts of trade, mean that we are ideally located for businesses to invest, and we are already seeing examples of this.
"Whether it be Colchester’s Northern Gateway, the Horizon 120 Business and Innovation Park in Braintree, or indeed the world-leading research being done at Chesterford Research Park and the University of Essex, we want to promote the area as an exciting opportunity where things are happening.
“And of course, the Garden Community proposals being developed across the area demonstrate that there is a joined-up long-term ambition to ensure good quality housing, employment land and transformational infrastructure, all of which are critical to economic growth.”
University of Essex Registrar Bryn Morris added: “We’re about to open the next phase of our Parkside Office Village and our new £12m Innovation Centre so this an amazingly exciting time for us.
We’re delighted to work with our partners to highlight the opportunities for ambitious business in north Essex. At the Knowledge Gateway research and technology park we’re looking to create a powerful hub for innovative, agile businesses.”
The North Essex Opportunity will showcase at MIPIM UK, held at Olympia London over 17-18 October 2018.
