Seven Essex students had the opportunity of a lifetime when they worked backstage at the BRIT awards this month.
Events Management and Hospitality students Matthew Laws, Emma Pavey, Annie Budd, Elizabeth Kent, Elda Neto De Barros, Lily Turner and Nidal Aslam from the Edge Hotel School were selected to work as backstage supervisors at the annual popular music awards on Wednesday 20 February.
The team aided staff in catering for some of the most important guest suites, handled client requests and ensured satisfactory services for guests.
Elda Neto De Barros said: “It was an amazing opportunity and we as a group enjoyed it a lot. It was great to be working with experienced people who have the same passion as we do.”
“Being backstage at the BRITs is something incredible. You have the opportunity to have two different points of views, which is the way it is organised and delivered. I had the opportunity to work with experienced people who are organised and work for people with high expectations understanding the most important way they achieve it.”
Matthew Laws said: “It was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I had a great time and would definitely do it again.”
