Prizes were awarded in three categories and went to those who have been successful at having papers published in high-profile academic journals, in gaining grants to further their research and in supporting colleagues.
The winners were:
Research Champion – to recognise academic staff with a significant track record of outstanding research and who have shown leadership in supporting or enabling others to deliver high quality research:
- Humanities – Annecy Lax
- Science and Health – Professor Tracy Lawson
- Social Sciences – Professor Han Dorussen
Exceptional Performance – to recognise academic staff who have delivered exceptional research performance in a single year:
- Humanities – Dr Michael Tymkiw
- Science and Health – Dr Alex Dumbrell
- Social Sciences – Dr Abhimanyu Gupta
Outstanding Early Career Researcher – to recognise those who have been awarded a PhD since March 2009, have produced outstanding research and demonstrate strong future potential:
- Humanities – Dr Liam Jarvis
- Science and Health – Dr Luca Citi
- Social Sciences – Dr Federica Genovese
