The brains behind the storming success of the women’s side – which has seen the Rebels reach the semi-final of the WBBL Cup for the first time - received the prestigious award today.
Humble Tom has praised the club and his dedicated players after taking home the Molten WBBL Coach of the Month for November.
He said: “Full credit goes to the amazing group of players and staff that I get to work with here at Essex.
“Despite a rocky start to our season and a number of challenges early on we've been able to make some good progress, and I’m excited to see what this season has in store for us."
The recognition from the Women’s British Basketball League comes ahead of his side’s crunch clash with the Oaklands Wolves.
If the rebels win away, we will continue our march up the table ahead of two fun-filled festive games in December – packed with games, entertainment and even presents for younger fans.
Tickets are on sale for these barnstorming bonanzas which are a perfect way to kick-off Christmas.
Dr Dave Parry, Director of Sport at Essex, has praised Tom and believes he will be line for more awards after this month’s games.
He said: "The coach of the month award is just recognition for Tom in guiding our WBBL team to a four-game winning streak in all competitions, including reaching the semi-final of the WBBL cup for the first time.
“Success at the elite level in sport comes about through relentless hard work and great skill in getting a team to play and perform with cohesion and intensity.
“Tom dedicates himself to this pursuit and I'm really pleased for him that he has been awarded coach of the month for the first time.
“I feel very confident that it won't be his last."
