Essex Chancellor Sarah Perry dropped into Southend Campus to meet staff and students.
During the visit, alongside University Council members, she toured East 15 Acting School, Essex Business School, the School of Health and Social Care, the Learning Hub and met Students' Union representatives.
The Chancellor had the opportunity to see performances by East 15 students including a stage combat session at the Clifftown Theatre and Studios. She also toured the Dental Skills Lab, Nursing Skills Lab and chatted to social work students before catching up with staff and students from Essex Business School.
Sarah said: "It was a joy and privilege to visit our Southend Campus and speak with students and staff. The spirit and enthusiasm of the University was evident everywhere I looked, and it was especially wonderful to see how a city centre campus benefits both the students and community - it showed modern University life at its best and most welcoming."
This is the first time Sarah has officially visited Southend Campus since being appointed as Chancellor in July and taking on the role from August.
