The Lord-Lieutenant and husband Philip Tolhurst, a former Pro-Chancellor, were welcomed to The Forum by Vice-Chancellor Professor Anthony Forster and Campus Manager Zoe Manning before being given a tour of the Gateway Building, Clifftown Theatre and Studios, and Learning Hub.
Students were on hand to provide demonstrations in the Nursing Skills Lab, while the Lord-Lieutenant was also shown around the state-of-the-art Dental Skills Lab.
She was then taken on a short walk to the Clifftown Theatre and shown studios used by East 15 Acting School students, before returning to The Forum for some refreshments.
Thomas Currid, Senior Lecturer from the School of Health and Social Care, was among those to take the Lord Lieutenant on the tour.
He said: “We were honoured and delighted to host The Lord-Lieutenant and to have the opportunity to show her our campus facilities and explain how these are used in our programme provisions.
“The Lord-lieutenant was very interested and keen to see and understand how the programmes offered at the campus are making a very positive impact on society as a whole.”
