The accreditation is at the heart of AMBA’s commitment to maintaining standards and fostering innovation in global postgraduate management education.
The award by AMBA for the School’s MBA course, follows a rigorous set of criteria to ensure that only programmes demonstrating the highest standards in teaching, learning and curriculum design, career development and employability, student, alumni and employer interaction achieve AMBA accreditation.
AMBA accredits only the top 2% of business schools in the world and describes its accreditation as the “gold standard” for management training around the world and is highly respected by managers and leaders globally.
The School’s successful MBA programme now boasts a flourishing alumni network with over 300 alumni and a new consultancy module, run in partnership with practicing consultants, has proved highly popular. It hopes this extended accreditation will open up further opportunities such as new partnerships with leading organisations on research projects, work-based learning and consultancy projects.
MBA Director Dr James Fowler said: “The Essex Business School is very happy that in response to our interim report, AMBA has extended our accreditation to October 2027. This keeps us in the top 2% of global business schools, and we would like to celebrate the hard work and commitment at all levels which has brought us this prestigious and unequivocal endorsement.
“Strong recruitment to our MBA this year indicates that our programme represents credible, enduring value to students from across the globe.”
Dean of Essex Business School Professor Claudia Girardone added: “Receiving this extension to the prestigious AMBA accreditation is a testament to ongoing dedication and quality within our MBA programme.
“It reflects our School’s commitment to uphold and enhance standards, ensuring that every student receives excellent business education and a lasting and impactful learning experience.”
