In the final showdown of BBC 3’s hit show RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, Kyran faced off against fellow contestant La Voix, lip syncing to Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen before being announced as the winner.
Twenty-six-year-old Kyran, who graduated from the East 15 Acting School in 2021 with a BA Acting and Contemporary Theatre, was described by RuPaul as “one of a kind”.
Kyran walks away from the show with a £25,000 cash prize.
Kyran said: “This is more than a dream come true. This is the accomplishment of a lifetime. I’ve never felt so proud in my entire life.”
Throughout the ten-week show, Kyran was consistently at the top of the pack snatching three RuPeter badges for the Tickety Boo cabaret, their Elvis impersonation in the Snatch Game and their Hugh Grunt character in the acting challenge.
Speaking about Kyran during the final, judge Alan Carr said: “You are so anarchic and subversive. I’ve loved all of your looks and you couldn’t have looked more beautiful than you do today.”
Kyran, who was inspired to try drag while studying at East 15 Acting School, previously said: “East 15 was instrumental to my drag career: so many of my inspirations come from my time in training. I use my skills from clowning, expressionism, commedia, even Shakespeare! My drag is a mishmash of all of my training at East 15.”
