IADS appoints new Deputy Director

The University of Essex is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Marta Arroyabe as the new Deputy Director of IADS.

Dr Arroyabe is a Reader at Essex Business School, where her research spans four key areas; innovation, digitalisation and cybersecurity, environmental management and entrepreneurship.

Dr Arroyabe has an academic background in mathematics and econometrics, and has extensive research experience in employing data science methodologies such as big data analytics, econometrics, machine learning, text mining and network analysis.

With a distinguished academic career and a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, she brings a wealth of expertise that will enhance the institute’s mission.

The vision for IADS is to use analytics and data science to develop solutions that transform the world and benefit individuals and communities.

This approach puts multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary collaborations at the forefront.

Dr Arroyabe’s appointment, as a leading academic from Essex Business School, exemplifies the institute’s commitment to fostering diverse perspectives and applying data science innovations in areas such as business and entrepreneurship.

Speaking about her appointment, Dr Arroyabe said: "I am thrilled to take on this role at such an exciting time for IADS.
