Biography

Seasonal coronaviruses, often overshadowed by pathogenic coronaviruses, hold critical insights into immune responses and viral behaviour that could reshape our understanding of respiratory virus pandemics. My research aims to understand the interaction between host innate immunity and seasonal coronaviruses, with a particular focus on the HCoV-OC43 strain. Specifically, I am concentrating on the Type 1 IFN response. Gaining insights into how the virus interacts with the host immune system will enhance our understanding of potential responses to future coronavirus or respiratory pandemics.
