Biography

2024 - Present : Senior Research Officer • Working with Dr Boyd McKew on engineering hydrocarbon biodegradation and biosurfactant pathways 2013 - 2024 : Laboratory Technician/Senior Laboratory Technician - University of Essex • Supporting multiple research groups across two laboratories within the Protein Structure and Mechanism of Disease Group at the University of Essex. • Use of specialist equipment including Gryphon crystallisation robot, Accuri flow cytometer, plate readers, UV-spectrometer, EPR spectrometer and AKTAs for protein purification. • Training of students and other lab members in use of specialist equipment in the laboratory. • Supervision of students carrying out research within the laboratory. • Maintenance of laboratory stocks including chemicals, consumables and bacterial cell lines. • Maintenance of equipment within the laboratory. • Health and Safety training within the laboratory and maintaining all records are kept up to date. 2015 - Present : Member of Professor Hough's research group, University of Essex.
