Biography
I am a PhD candidate from the Department of Government at the University of Essex (UK). Before joining the department I obtained an MA in Postcolonial Culture and Global Policy at Goldsmiths, University of London and a BA (Hons) in International Relations at The University of Lincoln. Specialising in the electoral mobilisation of the British African diaspora, my research disaggregates voter motivations and party strategies. The thesis focuses on three key aspects: exploring themes like religion, culture, and lived experiences for voting motivations and party mobilisation strategies. The second aspect delves into the intergenerational transmission of party identification within the diaspora and considers the impact of socio-political factors from countries of origin, particularly Ghana. Thirdly, examining the use of religion in campaign strategies, specifically within the Conservative Party, with a comparative study involving Ghana.

The Tie That Binds: the Electoral Mobilisation of the British African Diaspora
This thesis examines the electoral mobilisation of the British African diaspora in the UK. Focused on voter motivations and party strategies, the research analyses the influence of identity, culture, and socio-political experiences. Exploring generational patterns of party identification and comparing religious influences within the Conservative Party, the study provides a comprehensive understanding of the complexities surrounding British African diaspora electoral mobilisation.
