Biography

Samuel is an experienced professional with a robust background in international sports development and journalism, specialising in migration, sport and society, and Hong Kong studies. His recent publication delves into the migration transitions and challenges encountered by Hong Kongs sports elites. Samuel's current research focuses on the deskilling of highly skilled migrant professionals in the UK. His work examines UK migration and humanitarian visa policies, providing evidence-based recommendations to enhance diversity, inclusion, and the integration of skilled migrants. In addition, Samuel is a Tutor for the Postgraduate Certificate in International Sports Management at the University of London Worldwide. With over a decade of experience managing high-profile international sports events such as World Cup Qualifiers, the Premier League Asia Trophy, and the International Champions Cup, bringing valuable real-world insights to his teaching. As for sports, Samuel is an avid ultra-marathon runner, having completed several 100km and 50km ultra trail marathons such as the Rebal Walker, Translantau, and The North Face 100.
