Biography
Pablo Baisotti is Senior Lecturer at the University of Essex (Essex Business School). He was academic Visitor at the Latin American Centre, St. Anthony’s College, University of Oxford; Visiting Research Fellow at the University of South Wales; and Associate Researcher at the University of Brasilia. He is Fellow Researcher at the SWJ-El Centro https://smallwarsjournal.com/blog/swj-el-centro-announces-new-slate-fellowsassociates-2022, and Associate Researcher at Oxford House of Research https://www.oxfordhouseresearch.com/pablo-biasotti/ He holds a PhD in Politics, Institutions, History from University of Bologna. His research focuses on contemporary Latin America from different perspectives and fields, with a multidisciplinary character (particularly in the field of social sciences and the humanities). He is the author of more than twenty books as editor/author. Among them, the following stand out: Routledge Studies in the History of the Americas book series (4 vols. Routledge, 2021-2022); Global Cities in Latin America and Asia: Welcome to the XXI st. Century (Michigan U.P., 2022); Persistence and Emergencies of Inequalities in Latin America. A Multidimensional Approach (Springer, 2022); Reframing Globalization After COVID-19. Pandemic Diplomacy amid the Failure of Multilateral Cooperation (Sussex Academic Press, 2022); The Routledge Handbook of Violence in Latin American Literature (Routledge, 2022); Poverty, Money, and Ecology as Pillars of Pope Francis' Pontificate (2013–2019) (Lexington Books, 2021). He established international collaborations and conducted extensive fieldwork. He has worked on four continents, and has been invited to give courses/lectures at various universities in the following countries: Japan, El Salvador, Argentina, Poland, Costa Rica, China, Germany, United States, Spain, South Korea, among others.
