Biography

Lina Barakat is a Lecturer in the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering. Previously, she worked as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Institute for Analytics and Data Science (IADS), University of Essex. Prior to joining University of Essex, Lina was a teaching fellow in Computer Science at King’s College London (January 2018 - September 2018). Before that, she was a research associate at King’s College London, working on two projects: JASPR (Justified Assessment of Service Provider Reputation), and DIET4Elders (addressing the problem of malnutrition among older adults). She has research expertise in service-oriented systems, optimisation algorithms, semantic modeling, trust and reputation mechanisms, and machine learning.
