Biography

Jonathan Burton joined ISER in 1998 as a Senior Survey Research Officer. He worked on the British Household Panel Survey (BHPS). In 2005 he left the University to work at the Prime Minister's Strategy Unit with the Cabinet Office as the Data Manager and Data Analyst. In 2007 he returned to ISER as a Research Fellow, and become Survey Manager of the BHPS. He is currently Associate Director, Surveys, for Understanding Society: The UK Household Longitudinal Study (UKHLS). Jonathan is also part of the survey methods group within ISER, and has published research on survey methods, particularly survey participation, understanding the process of consenting to data linkage, use of technology and mobile devices in surveys, and mixed-mode studies.
