Nigel Collins

Biography

As a Careers Consultant I support students to gain valuable employability skills and make a successful transition into life after university. I design and deliver career development learning and employability initiatives (mainly across the Faculty of Science and Health), and collaborate with a range of colleagues from across the team, departments and wider university. I also regularly meet students and graduates 1-2-1 to offer advice and guidance on topics such as career decisions, further study, job hunting and securing work, and work closely with employers and external stakeholders. I'm always happy to help if you have any queries. I've been at Essex for 10 years with my previous role working across placements and work-based learning opportunities. I made the leap into higher education after working for training providers where I helped to improve the career prospects of people in the region.
