Profile

Biography

Debashree De is a Lecturer in Supply Chain Management.She is passionate about solving sustainability related issues, specially in the manufacturing sector. In broader aspect her research interest encompasses green supply chain management, sustainability, low carbon strategies and operations management. She has worked with Small and Medium Enterprises(SMEs) and the Indian farming supply chain. She is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy. She welcomes inquiries from potential PhD students.

Current research

The transformative role of digital technologies for resilience in Fresh Food supply chains in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic

To explore how Fresh Food supply chains (FFSC) have been affected due to the restrictions placed during the multiple COVID- 19 lockdowns. To explore ways in which digital technologies (DT) have helped to transform and improve resilience in FFSCs during and after the restrictions. Specifically, to identify best practices in FFSCs that used digital technologies to help monitor food quality and keep running their businesses during the lockdown

Resilient food-bank supply chains for disadvantaged communities in uncertain times of cost of living crisis

PVC (Research) Strategic Fund 2022: The project aims to explore the food bank supply chains resilience in UK and India in current uncertain scenario of cost of living crisis , its impact on communities and the recovery practices adopted. A pilot study was conducted to assess the food bank supply chains and the risks involved. The outcome of the project was an evaluation tool for supply risks and early triggers of food shortages. Potential recommendations were identified to improve the resilience of the food bank supply chain
