Biography
Tugce Dolen is a Lecturer and Clinical Tutor in the School of Health and Human Sciences at the University of Essex, where she is part of the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DCP) program. She contributes to various modules and academic activities, and co-coordinates Placement Allocation for the DCP program. Tugce trained as a Clinical Psychologist at the University of Essex (2019-2022) and has nearly a decade of experience working in diverse mental health settings within the NHS. Alongside her academic role, she works part time as a Senior Clinical Psychologist in a local Early Intervention in Psychosis team. Her previous roles include working within a Specialist Therapeutic Fostering Team, a Parent-Infant Team, CAMHS, and other adult and child services in London and the East of England. Additionally, she is a visiting lecturer at King’s College London. Clinically, Tugce is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), CBT for Psychosis (CBT-P), Circle of Security (COS), and Autism Assessment (ADOS-2). She also holds a foundation-level qualification in Systemic Therapy. Tugce has a strong passion for qualitative research, particularly the Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) approach. She adopts a feminist perspective in her work, using her clinical experience to help amplify the voices of marginalised groups through research. Her research interests include, but are not limited to, grief, attachment, and trauma.
