Biography

My long term research interest has been understanding the regulation of abiotic stress responses of crop plants, particularly the regulation of stress-responsive gene expression. My research aims to enhance photosynthesis for higher yield by utilizing the crop natural variation and by developing new genetic resources through cutting edge molecular and physiological approaches. Currently, my research focusses on the application of gene editing technology to modify plant architecture, with a focus on creating dwarf plants for indoor farming systems. We aim to develop proof-of-concept technologies for optimizing plant traits in indoor farms and commercial glasshouses, with broader applications to improve plant phenotypes for innovative growing systems.
