Biography
Dr Raysa Geaquinto Rocha is a lecturer in Organisation Studies and Human Resource Management at Essex Business School, University of Essex. With a commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and academic citizenship, Raysa brings a wealth of international experience and innovative perspectives to her field. At the forefront of her research are the dynamic intersections of Organizational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, and Management. Raysa's work, which focuses on practical wisdom and spirituality in organisational settings, corporate social responsibility, and entrepreneurship, not only contributes to theoretical advancements but also offers tangible implications for enhancing workplace experiences, productivity, and gender equity. Raysa's scholarly contributions have garnered significant recognition in the academic community. Her work has been published in esteemed journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics. The academic community has acknowledged Raysa's contributions through several prestigious awards. In 2021, her innovative approach to integrating knowledge management and organisational spirituality earned her the MSR Promising Dissertation Award from the Management, Spirituality and Religion, Academy of Management. In 2024, she received the "Most Inspirational Paper Award" at the EURAM conference and the "Promising Research Award" at the Conference of Research in Entrepreneurship, Education and Technology. Raysa's academic journey has been enriched by visiting researcher positions at esteemed institutions such as WU Vienna University of Economics and Business. Raysa has secured numerous grants and fellowships in recognition of her research potential. She was awarded the Karen Legge Bursary from the Society for the Advancement of Management Studies in 2024 and an Erasmus Plus project in 2023. Her involvement in 15 funded projects underscores her ability to attract research funding and lead impactful studies. Raysa's teaching philosophy embraces an authentic, experiential, and socio-cognitive constructivist approach. She employs innovative pedagogical techniques to foster student-centred learning outcomes, emphasising inclusive and equitable assessment methods. Her commitment to education extends beyond the classroom, as evidenced by her supervision of doctoral and master's students across multiple countries. In addition to her research and teaching, Raysa holds several leadership positions within the academic community. She serves as Associate Chair of the Management Spirituality and Religion (MSR) Division for the 84th Academy of Management Annual Meeting. With her diverse skill set, international experience, and passion for impactful research, Dr Raysa Rocha continues to strive to create positive change in organisational practices and societal well-being.
