Biography

With over 20 years of public sector and funding experience, Kate has been at the University of Essex since 2019. Her role is dedicated to securing funds from philanthropic trusts and foundations. Philanthropic funds can support buildings and facilities, outreach projects, campus activities, staff salaries, equipment, scholarships, bursaries and other project related costs. Kate's role includes: Building on the University of Essex' strategic approach to fundraising from trusts and foundations Identifying opportunities for projects requiring funding across the university Developing relationships with current and future trusts and foundations Working with university academics and staff to write funding proposals and applications Providing ongoing stewardship for trusts and foundations, ensuring they are kept informed of the impact of their support Ensuring contractual compliance and effective grant management If you have a project that is not 100% research-based and you think may be suitable for philanthropic support, please get in touch with Kate to discuss.
