Profile
- Dyspraxia and Reading Comprehension
Biography
I'm a first-year PhD student investigating reading comprehension within specific populations (non-native English, dyslexic, dyspraxic); my undergraduate project explored how non-native English speakers integrate unexpected semantic information into the local and global contexts, and now my research attempts to expand the knowledge base around Dyspraxia (DCD) - specifically, how the cognitive elements of DCD affect an adult population. As I am especially interested in using neuroimaging techniques to gather data (mostly ERP and ERO), in the future, I will focus my research on vulnerable populations to provide a greater understanding of the cognitive processes that these individuals experience. With this research, I wish to provide clarity around underresearched domains, informing individuals with specific learning difficulties and the interventions used to support them.
