Biography
Muzaffar is a phenomenologist. His background is interdisciplinary, with degrees in English literature, linguistics, and psychology. He studied English Literature at the University of Punjab (Pakistan), and after graduating, he got some teaching experience. During this time, he became interested in the phenomenon of language acquisition. In 2011, he came to the UK to study linguistics at the University of Essex and got a postgraduate degree in Applied Linguistics under the supervision of Pro Dr Roger Hawkins. He investigated the role of age in the acquisition of linguistically related gestures and the implication of the critical period hypothesis. Then, he taught linguistics and supervised several postgraduate projects at prestigious Universities in Pakistan. Meanwhile, he developed his interest in phenomenology and completed an MSc in Psychology at the University of East London. His MSc thesis explored the lived experience of socially isolated individuals and the role of innovation and creativity in coping with fear and anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic through interpretative phenomenological analysis under the supervision of Dr Zahra Tizro (UEL). Muzaffar has substantial experience in designing and executing multidisciplinary research projects. He has published in reputable journals and presented research papers at several conferences. He is enthusiastic about phenomenological methods, notably Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) research design. Currently, he is working on the lived experience of Asian International doctoral students in UK Universities, focusing on their stress management strategies. He is also interested in exploring the phenomenon of the conscious human experience of creation, art, painting, music, poetry, sculpture, and dance with a phenomenological lens. He is engaged in developing a qualitative theoretical model to examine these phenomena. Publications: Ali. M; khan.
