Biography

Caroline Kerry has worked for many years within the NHS as a physiotherapist in Musculoskeletal Care with a special interest in the field of Rheumatology Physiotherapy. She has always had a passion for teaching and developing the academic knowledge and clinical work-based learning of others. In 2015 she joined the Postgraduate Musculoskeletal Continuous Professional Development (MSK CPD) team at the University of Essex. Since joining, she has become the lead for various modules including Soft Tissue and Joint Injection Therapy which currently recruits about 120 students per academic year. Caroline's passion to ensure that musculoskeletal clinical practice standards are both maintained and advanced led to the development of a First Contact Musculoskeletal Practice Module in 2020. Caroline completed her postgraduate MSc in Advanced Musculoskeletal Assessment and Practice whilst working clinically graduating in 2015. She is now Programme Lead for this MSc and uses her experience of being a student as well as her wealth of clinical and teaching experience to support experienced clinicians to extend their scope and achieve the required standards to meet the four pillars of Advanced Clinical Practice. Current research interests include Joint Hypermobility, First Contact Musculoskeletal Practice and Soft Tissue and Joint Injection Therapy.
