Profile

Biography

I have a practice-based PhD specialising in science fiction films about memory and technology. I have put that knowledge into my first feature film "Mnemophrenia", a self-reflexive film exploring artificial memories and their close relation to the medium of film. "Mnemophrenia" is a multi-generation-spanning three part anthology asking what-if about the impact of advanced virtual reality on human identity and society. "Mnemophrenia" had its World Premiere at the 44th Boston Science Fiction Film festival in February 2019 and won the Festival Director's Commendation award. It is available on Amazon, Google Play, YouTube movies and TubiTV in US. Prior to this, I have directed and written four short films, two of which are award-winning and all of which have played in various international film festivals. I have also developed and ran two film-related educational programmes: a film-based Professional Development Course for teachers and academics calledIntegrating Film in Education (IFE); and a scriptwriting system called theInteractive Writing System, aimed at writers, directors and actors, helping them develop a script through guided improvisation.
