Biography
Dr Aylin Kunter is a Lecturer in Organization studies and a member of the Decolonization and Diversification of Business Education group at Essex Business School. She joined Essex Business School in January 2020, having previously held lectureships in Organization studies at BPP Business School, London, and a Senior Lectureship in Organization Studies at Middlesex University Business School, and at the Sociology department at Middlesex University. Dr Kunter has also been Associate Lecturer at King College London, Queen Mary University of London, and as part of the ERASMUS exchange scheme, visiting lecturer in Visual methods at Jaggielonian University, Krakow in 2017. Her MA is from Warwick Business School, University of Warwick and her PhD is from the school of Business and Management, Queen Mary, University of London. Dr Kunter's research focuses primarily on the Wellbeing of individuals within organizations. Her research is qualitative, applying visual, ethnographic, critical discourse analytic, and work/life interviewing approaches, to organizational life. Her research critically analyses the experiences of individuals and groups at work, with a view to improving our understanding of Wellbeing in the workplace. Her current research is focused on self care, wellbeing and it's wider implications for society. Dr Kunter is also interested in the intersectionalities of wellbeing at work. Dr Kunter has presented her work widely, including at the European group for Organization Studies conference, Critical Management Studies conference, International Visual Studies Conference, British Academy of Management and the Academy of Management conference. She has recently co-organised a stream at the Critical Management Studies conference in 2019, on Motherhood and Work, and co-edited a special issue on equality, diversity and wellbeing at work in the Journal of Equality, diversity and inclusion. Dr Kunter has written papers and book chapters in the following areas: - Countercultural values in the workplace - Experiences of religion and Spirituality at work - Visual methods Here more recent research areas include: - Intersectional experiences of organisations including self care - Gender and domestic work
